Youth High Point Equitation Awards
West Michigan Arabian Horse Association Class A Youth High Point Equitation Awards Purpose:
To acknowledge, honor, and encourage the showing and promotion of the Arabian breed.
Scope: WMAHA offers a High Point Equitation Award to its youth members in the following age divisions to youth riders accumulating the greatest number of points in AHA/USEF recognized shows. Points are tabulated from all Regions, Youth and Canadian Nationals.
Divisions are as follows:
1. Walk trot 10 and under
2. 13 and under
3. 14 – 18
Rules:
1. A rider/handlers age division will be decided by the age of the rider as of January 1 of the current showing year.
2. No points need to be submitted. If you are a member of WMAHA, you are automatically enrolled in this program.
3. All showmanship, medal, and equitation classes will count toward points. No lead line classes will count toward points.
4. All Regional and National classes must have a minimum of 3 riders. If there are less than 3 riders, points earned for that class will be cut in half.
5. The exhibitor must be a member in good standing with West Michigan Arabian Horse Association.
6. In an event that a question should arise regarding the interpretation of these regulations, the decision of the WMAHA Fall Classic Committee shall be final.

Point Scoring will be as follows:
YOUTH AND/OR CANADIAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES:
A rider named National Champion will receive 40 points, Reserve National Champion will receive 30 points, and a Top Ten will receive 20 points. Each class must have a minimum of 3 riders. (If there is less than 3 riders points earned for that class will be cut in half).
REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES:
A rider named Regional Champion will receive 30 points. Regional Reserve Champion will receive 20 points and a Top Five will receive 10 points. Each class must have a minimum of 3 riders. (If there is less than 3 riders points earned for that class will be cut in half).
“A” RATED COMPETITION CLASSES:
Points will be dependent upon number of riders in class. Points will only be given to the top 6 riders in the class: For example if there is 10 riders in class, first place will receive 10 points, 2nd place will receive 9 points, 3rd would receive 8 points, 4th would receive 7 points, 5th would receive 6 points, and 6th would receive 5 points.
